On December 7th, 2024, Watchpoint Logistics, Inc. partnered with a local non-profit Downtown Streets Team to build hygiene kits for the homeless in the Bay Area.
Thirty team members joined the fun.
The day started with coffee, donuts and a variety of “get to know your colleague” activities. Then, team members were placed into groups and tasked with collecting 28 individual hygiene products and determining the best means of packaging all of them into kits for distribution.
To make this more challenging, the products were mixed together in a large box and team members were given a picking list to determine the appropriate quantities of each item to place in their bags. Each team used their own unique approach to organize, sort and pack their bags. A total of 400 hygiene kits were assembled.
The event also included a catered Italian “build your own pasta bar” from Handheld Catering.
Downtown Streets Team’s mission is to “fight homelessness through the dignity of work and the power of community”. The hygiene kits that Watchpoint participants assembled will be distributed in the coming weeks to people experiencing homelessness.
