Dear Valued Customer,
Watchpoint Logistics, Inc. is closely monitoring a major hurricane forecast to impact the U.S. Gulf Coast beginning Friday, October 9. The storm is expected to bring heavy rainfall, damaging winds, storm surge, flooding, and localized power outages that may affect transportation networks and supply chain operations across portions of Florida, Louisiana, Alabama, Georgia, and surrounding areas.
Customers with freight moving into, out of, or through the affected region should anticipate the potential for disruptions to:
- Truckload (TL) and Less-Than-Truckload (LTL) capacity
- Pickup and delivery schedules
- Port and drayage operations
- Warehouse and distribution center activities
- Overall transit times throughout the weekend and into next week
Watchpoint Logistics recommends taking proactive measures now, including:
- Reviewing time-sensitive shipments
- Advancing pickups where possible
- Securing transportation capacity early
- Evaluating alternate routing options
- Considering temporary storage or inventory repositioning for critical freight
- Communicating any changes to shipping or receiving schedules
Our Operations team is actively monitoring weather conditions and working closely with our carrier network to minimize disruption. We are prepared to assist with alternate transportation solutions, routing adjustments, expedited capacity, storage options, and other contingency planning as conditions evolve.
If your facility expects closures, reduced operating hours, or changes to shipping or receiving schedules, please notify your Watchpoint Logistics representative as soon as possible so we can adjust transportation plans accordingly.
We will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as additional information becomes available. Our priority is maintaining the safe, reliable movement of your freight while minimizing disruption to your supply chain.
Thank you for your continued partnership.
The Watchpoint Logistics Team
